The Assurance Process

Ensuring alignment with the Service Standard

Overview of the Assurance Process

The Assurance Process consists of two assessment phases. These phases are conducted by the assessment panel, which is set up for each service and is composed of a multidisciplinary team.

The first assessment phase consists of the Preliminary Assessment of the service and is conducted towards the end of the Learning Stage to verify that the service being developed is heading in the right direction.

The second assessment phase consists of the Final Assessment of the service which takes place after the Making Stage, just before the service is ready for public introduction.

The Assurance Process is a mandatory pre-requisite for a Service to Go Live.

The Assessment

The following process is applicable for both assessment phases (Preliminary and Final).

  • The Project Manager of the Contracting Authority will be invited to present the service with the Service Team to the Assessment Panel. The presentation, which will be recorded, must cover all aspects specified in the Preliminary Assessment Checklist and the Final Assessment Checklist according to the assessment phase required.
  • During the Assessment Sessions, the Assessment Panel can ask questions/clarifications on matters concerning the service in relation to the Service Standard.
  • Within 15 calendar days from the completion date of the presentation, the Assessment Panel will release the Assurance Report which will also be available on the DSF website.
